Find My Batteries · Updated 26 October 2026
Find My Batteries is a personal DarkByte Creations app for keeping track of household batteries. Contact contact@darkbyte.uk for support or privacy questions.
Your inventory stays on your device
Battery counts, device names, locations, notes and chosen photos are stored in the app on your device. They are not uploaded to DarkByte Creations. The app has no account system, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, location tracking or cloud sharing service. It does not measure charge or detect batteries automatically.
Your operating system may include app data in device backups, depending on your settings. Apple and Google manage those backups under their own policies.
Optional photos
Camera or photo-library access is used only when you choose to add a photo. The app stores its own copy so the inventory can display it later. You can use the inventory without granting these permissions. Change access in your device settings.
Pro purchases
Apple or Google processes the optional one-time Pro purchase. The app uses store purchase evidence to verify the upgrade and saves the verified entitlement for offline use. DarkByte Creations does not receive payment-card details. Restoring purchases uses the same store account; purchases do not transfer between Apple and Google.
CSV export
If you choose to export a CSV with Pro, the app creates a temporary file and opens the system share interface. Only the app or destination you select receives that file. CSV exports contain your inventory, device names, locations and notes. They do not include photos or purchase evidence. Exported copies are under your control and are not restorable app backups.
Optional affiliate links
Approved marketplaces may offer clearly labelled external Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Following a link is optional and does not affect inventory features. No inventory or device descriptions are attached to these links. Amazon processes visits and purchases under its own privacy policy. The initial soft launch has shopping links disabled.
Support correspondence
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you send. We use it to respond and resolve your enquiry, and retain it only as needed for that purpose or legal obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive household details unless necessary. You can ask us about or request deletion of your support correspondence using the contact address above.
Retention and deletion
Inventory stays in the app until you delete it or uninstall. Settings → Delete local inventory removes inventory records and the app's copies of photos and temporary exports. It preserves preferences and store entitlement. It does not remove original photos, exports you saved elsewhere or operating-system backups. Manage those separately through the relevant system or service. Uninstalling removes remaining local app settings, subject to device backup behaviour.
Changes
We will update this page and the in-app privacy information if data handling changes. The date at the top identifies this policy version.
